Clothing and personal items are limited to:
Clothing - 2 week’s supply, specifically:
- 14 shirts or sweaters (applies to child as well)
- 14 pants and/or shorts (applies to child as well)
- 14 pair of socks (applies to child as well)
- 14 bras
- 14 underwear (applies to child as well)
- 2 pair sneakers (applies to child as well)
- 1 pair house shoes (applies to child as well)
- 1 jacket/coat (applies to child as well)
- 2 pair pajamas (applies to child as well)
- 2 “professional” outfits
- 1pr. High heels
- 14 Towels and 14 washcloths
- 1 Pillow and pillowcase with fire retardant tag attached
- 1 Comforter
- 2 set twin sheets
- 1 Throw Blanket
- Personal hygiene products (tampons, kotex, etc)
- Toiletries: 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 body wash or 2 bars soap (must be in clear plastic containers, no glass), 1 deodorant, 1 toothbrush, 1 tube toothpaste, 1 roll dental floss, 1 package of razors, 1 shaving crème, 1 cosmetic bag with appropriate amount of cosmetics, 1 non-aerosol hairspray, 1 non-alcohol mouthwash
- Money: quarters and dimes for the vending/soda machine
- Postage Stamps
- 1 Laundry detergent, 1 bleach, 1 fabric softener/dryer sheets
- Prepaid calling card
- Electronic Items:1 hairdryer, 1 curling iron/brush/rollers, and 1 electric razor – all need to be inspected for proper working condition before use on the unit.
- Personal photos may be taped to each private bulletin board located in rooms
- Alarm Clock-No radio (Residential Only)
- CD players with headphones
- IPods-must not have any recording functions
- 2-3 toys per child
Any items in excess will be sent back home with family/significant others or locked in an individual locker located in the administration area for safekeeping until discharge. Any illegal substance, including tobacco products, matches, and lighters will be disposed of in a safe manner.
Any items that you may run out of can be brought to you during family visitation or left at the front desk between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. All items brought to the facility will be inspected for contraband and all items will be added to clients’ inventory.
Consumers and visitors are responsible for all personal belongings. MONARCH is not responsible for replacing lost or misplaced items, so we recommend you bring only essential items to our facility and offer the following tips to help keep your personal items secure.
Clothing: Storage space in consumer rooms is limited. MONARCH does not have storage space available for clothing and/or other personal items not contained in your room. In addition, MONARCH will not accept responsibility for personal items left unattended in your room.
Valuables: Please leave all valuables at home or send them home with a family member or friend upon admission to MONARCH. This includes jewelry, watch, cash, and credit cards, wallet, purse, camera, cell phone, laptop, or any other item that would be considered a loss if misplaced.
